In our body, the healthy cells divide and replace themselves constantly. This process takes place in a controlled fashion, throughout our lives. Sometimes, when a cell gets altered somehow and starts multiplying out of control, it results in cancer.
Cancer is the name given to a group of illnesses. It consists of tumours that are malignant or cancerous and spread throughout the body, interfering with daily functions.
It spreads through a process called metastasis, wherein these cancerous cells travel to other parts of the body through the blood vessels and form tumours in these other areas.
People who are suffering from cancer may experience symptoms such as fever, fatigue, changes in their skin, weight loss, a persistent cough, unusual bleeding and sores that don’t heal.
If you feel that you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, then getting tested for cancer may be the right thing for you. There is a different test for each type of cancer.
